Hey Inquisitive writers! So even though I never mentioned this on my blog, I am going to talk about the band Paramore.

The reason I would like to write about Paramore today is because they are an awesome band and I believe more people should know about them. Also, I want to follow my own advice, and write about my passions on my blog more, as I mentioned in my “How to make blogging fun” post.

So Paramore is an American rock/pop/electro pop band that originated from Franklin, Tennessee in 2004. The band members in Paramore were only about 13 or 14 when they formed! The members now are Hayley Williams, Taylor York, and Zac Farro.

The band released their debut album “All we know is falling” in 2005. My favorite songs off the album are “Conspiracy” and “Franklin”

The reason I like this album so much is because the guitar riffs and drum beats just remind me of the year 2005, where I lived, and what it was like back then. I kind of miss it, I guess.

The following albums are Riot! (2007), Brand New Eyes (2009), Paramore (2013), and After Laughter (2017)

Paramore has included so many genres on their albums. They first started off with a rock/alternative/pop punk vibe for their first three albums, then switched to a more “poppy” sound on their self-titled album. Their latest album After Laughter has an 80s style ~ electro pop kind of sound. I’m usually not for the electro pop that is common nowadays, but I love how Paramore took that sound and kind of made it their own.

Misery Business! This is one of my favorite songs by them. Who can’t jam out to this tune? It’s actually one of the classic songs by Paramore. I remember listening to it for the first time sometime in the month of June a couple years ago, and now it kind of reminds me of the summer.

In their following album “Brand New Eyes,” they had hits such as “The Only Exception” and “Brick by Boring Brick”. The latter song reminds me of first listening to it on the radio and feeling cool.

Paramore releasing “The Only Exception” and “Misguided Ghosts” shows their musical flexibility as they released songs of different genres before.

I also remember seeing “The Only Exception” being sung on the tv show Glee.

“All I Wanted” is also a gem. I believe it’s one of the most underrated songs on the album.

“Monster” is an energetic song that was also included on the “Transformers: Dark of the Moon” soundtrack.

On the other hand, I absolutely love “Still Into You”! It also reminds me of the summer, like “Misery Business,” even though they are two completely contrasting songs!

My favorites off the self-titled album include Part II, Future, Last Hope, and the bonus track “Escape Route” I listen to this album whenever I’m in a good mood.

Their latest album “After Laughter” includes one of the singles, “Hard Times,” which is now certified Gold in the U.S.!

But psst whatever Paramore releases is really good and catchy. I’m also going to a concert of theirs this summer! I’m so ecstatic. I’m just glad they’re still making music and going on tours.

The whole reason I like Paramore is because a) they’re not invested with just love songs b) their songs have meaning that I can relate to c) some of their songs bring back nostalgia for me d) they’re all just amazing lol

Do I have a favorite album? I actually don’t. They’re all too good to decide.

Are you a fan of Paramore? Have you heard of their songs before? Do you have a favorite band/artist?

  1. Gosh I remember when I used to be really into Paramore… they were my third favourite band behind My Chemical Romance and Green Day. I was a proper little emo kid when I was a teenager. I saw Paramore play live in… 2010? I think… supported by B.o.B and Fun. They were pretty damn good and it was my first experience of a circle pit.

The only thing these days that grates on me is the line in Misery Business that goes ‘Once a whore, you’re nothing more…’, and I know it’s silly but everytime I hear it I’m like “Damn Hayley, stop being so judgmental! So they girl like to have sex… and?!?!?” Lol.

Have fun at their show! 🙂
